RentPay™
Tell me about RentPay™?
RentPay™ is the (patent pending) Financial Technology arm of RedGirraffe.com, the only Financial Technology platform in the world that allows tenants (Residential/Commercial/Retail & Hospitality) to pay their monthly rental payments using their Credit/Debit Cards. Over 40+ banks operating in India have technologically integrated with RedGirraffe.com and are offering this revolutionary value based service to their customers. Banking integration with largest banks in United Kingdom is underway. If the tenant’s card issuing bank is one of the registered banks with us then all tenant has to do is 1) Go to www.redgirraffe.com, click RentPay™ on the top right hand corner. Fill in the form, attach your rent agreement and submit the form. Once done, an RG ID is generated for your property. 2) Use the RG ID to register RedGirraffe as a biller on your bank’s portal and you are now good to pay your rent month on month via your Credit/Debit cards.
What are the steps involved to enroll/register for the service?
1) Go to www.redgirraffe.com, click RentPay™ on the top right hand corner. Fill in the form, attach your rent agreement and submit the form. Once done, an RG ID is generated for your property.
2) Use the RG ID to register RedGirraffe as a biller on your bank’s portal and you are now good to pay your rent month on month via your Credit/Debit cards.
Is the service available pan India?
Yes.
Why should I register for RentPay™? What are the advantages of enrolling for this service?

What modes of payment do you accept? I wish to pay through a bank/card not available through RedGirraffe, how do I do that?
We currently facilitate payments of credit/debit cards issued by Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI-GE Cards & Yes Bank.
How long does service activation take?
Post registration, verification by RedGirraffe usually takes around a week. Depending on the bank you register with, service activation might take anywhere between 10 working days to a month.
What all documents are required for verification?
Only a valid rent agreement is required for verification. Please ensure that the details entered on the RentPay™ form match the details on the rent agreement. In case of any deviation, please notify us via email at rentpay@redgirraffe.com. Do mention your RG ID when writing to us.
What additional charge is levied over and above the rent? How much is the transaction fee on INR X? /Are there any hidden charges?
Please note that transaction fees of 0.39% subject to a minimum of Rs 39/- per transaction shall be applicable for ICICI Cards, HDFC Cards, Kotak Mahindra Bank Cards, Axis Bank Cards and IndusInd Bank Cards. Along with the applicable service tax the gross transaction fee comes to INR 45 for every INR 10,000/- .However in case of SBI Cards, an additional banking transaction charge of 1.75% plus taxes shall be charged extra by the bank.
Can I pay the rent for my friend/relative/acquaintance?
Yes, register the tenancy by clicking on “RentPay™”, and submit the details.
Can I register more than 1 tenancy?
Yes, just register the tenancy by clicking on ‘RentPay™’ & submit the details. In case you wish to create separate tenancies under separate login IDs, you may register without logging in first.
What is the maximum rent for which you shall accept registration?
We accept monthly rental payments of up to INR 1 Crore. For a rental payment exceeding INR 1 Crore per month please write in to rentpay@redgirraffe.com
Do you permit payment of security deposit/society maintenance charges?
No.
Can I split my rent into more than 1 account?
Yes, just click on ‘Add Account’ at the end of the form to add more than one beneficiary’s account details.
Registrations
Do you need the tenant’s account details?
No, however we do require the landlord’s account details (name as per the bank account, account no, IFSC code).
I don’t have my landlord’s PAN card number, can I still register?
Yes, we do require the landlord’s account details (name as per the bank account, account no., IFSC code). Please ensure that accurate details are entered when registering for RentPay™. Pan/Aadhar details are already available with the bank.
I don’t have a rent agreement what do I do?
The rent agreement is mandatory, please mail in your query to rentpay@redgirraffe.com.
How can I ensure that the rent is deducted on or before a certain date?
Please mention the due date accordingly.
How soon after registering on RedGirraffe should I register with the bank?
As soon as you get an automated registration confirmation from RedGirraffe, it is advisable that you register with the bank. In most cases, it’s a simultaneous process.
I need to verify the details on my RentPay™ form, how do I do that?
Log in to your RedGirraffe account. The form is visible under the ‘RentPay™ Form’ tab under ‘My Profile’ in ‘My Dashboard’.
How long does registration verification take?
It usually takes a week since the rent agreements are carefully perused & verified.
My registration is still pending, when will I get a confirmation?
You shall receive an automated email confirmation once the same is confirmed. It usually takes 48 hours to a week for confirmation, depending upon RedGirraffe’s and bank’s verification process dependencies.
Payments & Receipts
I’ve registered now what? / I’ve registered & now wish to pay my rent, how do I do that? / Where do I click to pay my rent?
Rent payment is not instant for first 6 months, as the banks would like to track the card pay outs. As of now you need to register RedGirraffe as a biller with the card issuing bank & payments shall happen once the bank activates the service. The bank usually presents the bill for payment prior to the due date. Instant Payment mode shall be availed by all such customers having over 6 months of RentPay™ payment history.
How long does payment take?
Depending on the bank you’ve registered with, the amount is debited a week to 3 working days prior to the due date. It is credited to the landlord’s account by the due date.
I need a payment receipt, would you send me one?
Yes. A payment receipt is mailed to you once the rent is credited into the landlord’s account.
My rent was deducted, how would I know it was credited to the landlord’s account?
You shall receive a notification via email.
My payment was rejected because the rent amount was more than the auto pay limit, what do I do?

Changes/Updates
I need to change rent amount/due date/bank, how do I do that? / Can I edit the RentPay™ form details?
Please send in an email mentioning your RG ID & details of the changes to rentpay@redgirraffe.com. We need to be notified a month in advance about changes in any detail that may have an impact on your rent payment. Very little gap between the change date & due date may lead to changes being considered for the payment in the succeeding month.
I don’t see changes confirmed via email on my dashboard/payment update/rent agreement. Changes don’t show up on the dashboard?
It usually takes up to 24 hours for the changes to reflect on your dashboard. Payment details are updated once the amount is credited to the landlord’s account.
Bank
How many banks have RedGirraffe technologically integrated in India to launch RentPay™?
We have technologically integrated with over 40 Banks in India. In the first phase, we have launched the services of RentPay™ with SBI-GE Cards, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Other banks shall soon go LIVE in the next phase.
Does the bank offer cashback? / What other offers does the bank give for rent payments?
While partner banks do publicise offers from time to time, it is recommended you contact your bank directly for up to date & accurate information.
I’ve registered with one bank & would like to register with another bank as back up, how do /I do that?
We permit registration only with a single bank (specifically the bank you mention at the time of registration). To avoid any double debits & reconciliation issues, we suggest you strictly maintain it that way.
I’ve registered with one bank & would like to register with another because their offers are more attractive, how do /I do that?/I registered with one bank on RedGirraffe but would like to pay through another, how do I do that?
Please delete RedGirraffe as a biller with the bank you DO NOT wish to use & add RedGirraffe as a biller with the bank you wish to use for payments. Do drop in an email to rentpay@redgirraffe.com so that we may change our records accordingly. In case we are NOT NOTIFIED, it may impact your rent payment.
